All of his teammates burst into laughter just by looking at Kang's walking style. However, Kang seems to have no idea why he is so funny. His drawing proves that he is born with a smile.

Of course, Kang knows his charm well. "As you know, he has a strong image on the outside," said Kang, who recently met with reporters at the Black Town Spring camp in Australia. "I've been having such a complex since I was young. I did nothing wrong, but it could cause misunderstanding. Outfielder Kim Min-seok, who moved to Doosan this winter, is also fascinated by Kang. "I want to learn the personality who leads the mood and is not shy like Kang. He is funny even when he walks," Kim said with a smile. 

In response, Kang said, "I was humiliated in front of 200 soldiers because of my walking style. At that time, the company commander put pressure on me to walk straight. I was selected as an assistant and had to set an example in front of others, but when I walked wrong, everyone laughed at me even though I didn't do anything. He said he thought I was a comedian, not an athlete," adding, "I tried not to teach him how to walk others when I couldn't even walk properly. But he said it was too late, so I somehow changed my walking style. Now that I am back in society and my world, my walking has come back." 

There is also an unexpected hobby. It is reading books. Kang is one of the leading reading enthusiasts in his team. He brought two books to this spring camp. However, he made a mistake in choosing books. This also brought a big laugh.

"I brought Keigo Higashino's novel and his life's self-improvement book to the camp. I like novels, but they were like a collection of novels. I think I should get a refund because I bought them wrong. They didn't teach me the rules of life and kept talking about themselves," Kang said. "Personally, my favorite book is 'Humans wander as long as they try (by Kim Jong-won). It is a book that interprets the writings of Goethe, a philosopher, and it helped me in my life." 

It is no such thing as a hobby. Kang showed interest in reading books when he was a student. "Usually sports students don't have to look at textbooks, so it's hard to follow classes. I read books once when I was a student and they read so well. That's why I started borrowing books at the library," Kang said. "I didn't like to hear that athletes are ignorant again. My parents also emphasized reading, so I naturally started reading books from a young age." 

Kang Hyun-gu, a right-handed and right-handed outfielder born in 2002, joined the team in the 30th order of the total of the second and third rounds of the rookie in 2021. 

Kang Hyun-gu, who had been adapting to the professional world in the Futures League in the 2021 season, made his debut in the first division of the 2022 season. Kang has been batting coach Park Seok-min since last fall's final training session. Kang strongly agreed with Park's direction of making good use of his strengths rather than making up for weaknesses. 

Kang Hyun-gu said, "Coach Park Seok-min told me that it would be nice to focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. It was the first time the coach said that, so it really touched my heart. He stressed that I need to focus on my swing, not changing my swing or not to get it right first." 

The batting role model is Yang Seok-hwan, who is a senior in the team. Kang even asked Yang for batting advice. 

Kang Hyun-gu said, "Yang Seok-hwan really made the ideal swing that I wanted during the camp training. So I approached him first and asked for his advice, and he told me to come anytime. Isn't timing the basis of baseball? Last year, there was a problem of late timing, but I was curious about that because he always made good pitches with hitting points formed in front of him." 

Finally, Kang Hyun-gu said, "My motto is 'Trust yourself'. If I don't engrave this, I'm the type to fall in love with others, so I listen to others and copy them. Then I have nothing to myself. I will always live with that in my heart that I have to believe in myself."
